YOUR BROWSING BELONGS TO YOU

Privacy policy.

A small extension should leave a small footprint.

LAST UPDATED OCTOBER 29, 2026

Sidewell’s app and Safari extension do not collect or transmit browsing history, page content, or your site preferences. The app has no account system, advertising SDKs, or analytics. Your preferences are stored locally.

Who is responsible for Sidewell?

Sidewell is developed and operated by Sunny Dhama. For questions about this policy, contact dhamasunny98@gmail.com.

What the extension accesses

Sidewell needs Safari permission to access websites you choose so it can adjust their layout. On those pages, it reads the site hostname, page structure, viewport dimensions, and safe-area information needed to apply your preferences. It can change layout styles and display its controls on the page.

This processing happens on your device. Sidewell does not send page content, search terms, forms, passwords, or browsing history to the developer or to a server.

Preferences stored on your device

The extension stores the website hostnames you configure and your layout preferences in Safari’s local extension storage. Preferences can include the selected view, spacing, protected elements, and floating-button settings. They are not synced by Sidewell to a cloud service.

You can reset preferences using the extension’s controls. You can revoke website access in Safari’s extension settings or remove the app and extension. Apple controls how device backups and operating-system data are handled; its privacy policy applies to those services.

No app tracking or analytics

Sidewell does not include advertising SDKs, third-party analytics, tracking pixels, or a user account system in the app or extension. It does not sell personal data or use browsing activity for advertising.

Visiting this website

This website is a separate, static site hosted on the developer’s virtual machine. It does not use analytics scripts, advertising cookies, or third-party fonts. Showcase screenshots are served as local image files.

When you visit the site, the web server, hosting provider, and reverse proxy necessarily process normal request information, such as your IP address, requested URL, time, and browser headers, to deliver the page and operate the service. Infrastructure may retain operational or security logs. This is separate from extension browsing activity; the extension does not send that activity to this website.

Contacting us

If you send an email, the information you include and your email address are processed to respond. Avoid sending sensitive page content, account details, or passwords. Email services have their own privacy practices. Sidewell does not automatically send site reports or attach browsing information.

Other websites and links

Websites you visit in Safari have their own privacy practices, regardless of whether Sidewell is enabled. Links from this site, including future App Store links, lead to services governed by their own policies. Sidewell does not operate the websites shown in its showcase, except for the developer’s own site.

Children’s privacy

Sidewell does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app or extension. If you believe personal information was sent to the developer in a support request and should be deleted, contact us at the address above.

Changes to this policy

This policy describes the current app, extension, and website design. If their privacy practices change, this page will be updated with a new date. Any new collection or transmission of data will be described before that functionality is introduced.
